This was a very special week for me. I was stable enough so that daddy and mommy could hold me in their loving arms for the first time. This is one of my favorite activities; it's called "kangaroo care". Even though I was very tiny, I could feel the warmth of their skin and hear their heartbeat as they cuddled me. It was very good for me to know that I was loved. I slept really well in this position.
The ventilator tubes that were in my throat and into my lungs to help me breathe were taped to my daddy's skin to keep them from moving. I'm sure he didn't like the tape stuck to his body, but he wanted to hold me so much that he put up with it. I'm happy that he did!
This is our first family picture together. That's me in the middle, the tiny one with my daddy.
